Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy for Membership at the SiS Sports Centre
Please note that the contract/terms currently applicable to you as an existing member are those you received when you joined.
General
1.1. In these terms and conditions, the contracting parties are defined as "SiS Sports Center" and "the member." SiS Sports Center is a department of the Student Welfare Organization and will be referred to as such throughout the remainder of the agreement.)
1.2. These terms and conditions form part of the membership agreement and, together with the enrollment procedure, constitute the contract between SiS Sports Center and the member, in order of precedence, with the contract taking priority.
Membership at the SiS Sports Center
2.1 Membership at the SiS Sports Centre is available to persons who:
2.1.1. Is 16 years old, or turns 16 during the year of enrollment. Identification may be required. Persons under the age of majority (18 years) may enter into a membership agreement with the SiS Sports Center if a parent or guardian enters into the agreement on their behalf. The parent or guardian is legally responsible for payments associated with the membership.
2.1.2. Is in generally good health. The member is responsible for ensuring that they are medically fit to use the center. If SiS Sports Center has clear reason to believe that the exercise is harmful to the member, the center will request a meeting with the aim of helping the member correct any potentially harmful exercise habits.
2.1.3 Who have not previously been banned from the SiS Sports Center or have outstanding debts from previous memberships
2.2. Membership at the SiS Sports Center is personal and may not be transferred or otherwise used by a third party.
2.3. Upon registration, a photo of the member will be taken. The photo will be used for verification purposes only.
2.4. Separate terms and age limits apply to climbing facilities; see Chapter 10.
2.5. SiS Sports Center has its own safety and conduct rules that must be followed; see Chapter 9.
2.6. SiS Sports Center cannot guarantee a place in group classes or other activities where the number of participants is limited
2.7. SiS Sports Centre reserves the right to adjust membership prices and other fees, and to amend the membership terms and conditions. Such adjustments may also be made if government or municipal charges change, or if required due to safety considerations, orders from public authorities, or changes in legislation.
2.7.1. Annual price adjustments will be introduced from autumn 2026 for new members and from 1 January 2027 for existing members. Thereafter, price adjustments will be determined and communicated annually, taking effect on 1 January each year. Notice of price changes and changes to the terms and conditions shall be provided in accordance with applicable regulations and notice periods.
2.8. All or part of the center may be closed or offer limited services in connection with events, public holidays, maintenance work, and force majeure.
2.9. SiS Sports Centre has reduced opening hours and a limited group exercise schedule on public holidays and special occasions, during Christmas and Easter, and from mid-June to mid/late August. SiS Sports Centre is always closed on 17 May.
Membership duration
3.1 Direct debit with a 12-month commitment period: The membership is valid for a minimum of 12 months and is an ongoing agreement. After the commitment period expires, the membership is automatically renewed and continues until terminated. Termination can take effect no earlier than the end of the commitment period. The notice period is one month, calculated from the most recent invoice payment (the 15th of each month). Notice of termination must be sent by email to the address provided on the SiS Sports Centre website. The agreement requires the customer to set up a direct debit.
3.2 Direct debit with no fixed term (minimum 2 months): The membership is valid for the number of months desired by the Member, but has a practical minimum term of 2 months due to the notice period. The membership is an ongoing contractual relationship. The notice period is one month, calculated from the most recent invoice debit (the 15th of each month). Notice of termination must be sent by email to the address provided on the SiS Sports Centre website. The agreement requires the customer to set up a direct debit.
3.3. One-month membership: The membership fee is paid upon registration, and the membership takes effect immediately. The validity period runs from the date of purchase until the same date in the following month. The agreement terminates automatically at the end of this period, and no cancellation is required. The agreement does not require direct debit.
Customized membership
4.1. Membership at the SiS Sports Centre provides access to the add-ons and concepts included in the specific membership options selected upon enrolment. Access is limited to the services and facilities defined in the selected membership agreement.
4.2. Membership may be upgraded at any time to gain access to additional services and concepts. Upgrades take effect immediately and can be requested by email at the address provided on the SiS Sports Centre website.
4.3 Membership may be downgraded to reduce access to add-on services and concepts, provided that the contract is not subject to a minimum commitment period. Add-on services may be downgraded with one (1) month's notice, calculated from the most recent billing date (the 15th of each month).
4.4 Padel, golf simulator, and personal training are priced separately and are not included in the membership options
Payment terms
5.1 As a general rule, SiS Sports Centre uses AvtaleGiro (direct debit) as its payment method. 5.2 To use AvtaleGiro, the member must have a Norwegian bank account and be at least 18 years old.
5.3. The Member is responsible for setting up and maintaining an AvtaleGiro direct debit authorization with their bank. The authorization must remain valid at all times and have a payment limit sufficient to cover the invoice amount.
5.4. Cancelling the direct debit agreement does not affect the member's payment obligations and is not considered a termination of the membership.
5.5. AvtaleGiro must be active before the 2nd of each month for payments to be processed without additional fees (NOK 33). If AvtaleGiro is not active before the 2nd of the month following registration, the first payment can be made at the center's reception desk.
5.6. Once the AvtaleGiro direct debit agreement has been set up, the agreed amount will be debited from the member's account on the 15th of each month, except during the initial setup period, when special terms apply.
5.7. Instalment payments must be made at the agreed time. If payment is not received by the due date, the claim will be referred to a third party for collection and debt recovery, and additional costs will be incurred.
Discounted agreements
6.1 Verification of discount eligibility: For memberships with a discounted direct debit agreement (e.g. student, alumni, or corporate rates), eligibility for the discount may be verified once or twice a year. The member is responsible for providing the necessary documentation, such as proof of payment of the semester fee, an employee ID card, or other relevant confirmation. Documentation must be sent to the center's email address by the 3rd of the month for the discount to apply from the following month.
6.2 Special terms for student agreements: Student membership requires a valid student ID to be presented upon registration and after the 12-month commitment period. In addition, student IDs will be checked every autumn semester. To qualify for the student rate, the member must have paid the semester fee to a student welfare organization in Norway. If a valid student ID is not received via post@sissportssenter.no after the commitment period expires or during a semester check, the membership will be upgraded to the alumni rate. The membership will continue until the member terminates the contract.
6.3 Vocational College/Apprentice: Apprentices are not eligible for student membership. Apprentices under the age of 23 are eligible for youth membership and must submit valid documentation to post@sissportssenter.no when signing up. Once they turn 23, they must switch to a regular membership.
Membership freeze
“Freeze” means the temporary suspension of the contract and payments for a limited period.
7.1 A freeze is granted only for active agreements that use AvtaleGiro as the payment method
7.2. Membership may be frozen for up to two (2) months per calendar year through the SiS Sportssenter app without requiring documentation.
7.3. All requests to freeze a membership for more than 2 months must be submitted in writing to the center's email address provided on the website.
7.4. Cancelling a direct debit in online banking is not considered a freeze and will be recorded as non-payment and a breach of contract
7.5. Regular memberships may be frozen for one (2) month per calendar year without requiring documentation
7.6. Student memberships may be frozen for two (2) months per calendar year without requiring documentation
7.7. Freezing for more than two months requires documentation and may only be requested when the absence is due to exceptional circumstances:
illness/injury, documented by a medical certificate
pregnancy, documented by a medical certificate
stationed away from home for work, military service, or studies in another city or abroad, as documented by the employer, military, or educational institution
7.8. In cases where the commitment period has not been completed, it will be extended by the same number of days as the freeze period.
7.9. Membership freezes cannot be applied retroactively
7.10. After the freeze period expires, the membership will automatically continue under the terms and conditions on which the agreement is based.
7.11. If notice of termination is given during the freeze period, a notice period of one (1) month will apply after the freeze period has ended, provided there is no minimum commitment period. If a minimum commitment period applies, it must be completed before any termination can take effect.
Termination
8.1. Unless a minimum commitment period applies, the member may terminate the membership at any time
8.2. Exceptions allowing the commitment period to be terminated upon cancellation apply if the member moves 50 km or more away from the SiS Sports Centre, or in the event of an acute/serious illness. In such cases, documentation must be provided in the form of confirmation of the move or a medical certificate.
8.3. The notice period is one (1) month, calculated from the date of the last invoice payment (the 15th of each month).
8.4. All notices of termination must be submitted in writing to the email address provided on the center's website.
8.5. Stopping a direct debit in online banking is not considered termination of the membership agreement and will be recorded as non-payment and a breach of contract.
Safety and Well-Being Rules
9.1 The member undertakes to comply with the instructions and rules established by SiS Sports Centre regarding hygiene, conduct, and general well-being. This includes:
9.1.1. Follow instructions from staff
9.1.2. Leave the center by closing time
9.1.3. Follow the center's dress code. See the notice posted at the center.
9.1.4. Tidy up and clean exercise equipment after use
9.1.5. Behave politely and respectfully toward others. Do not consume alcohol or drugs, or engage in any activities at the center that are illegal under Norwegian law.
9.1.6. Valuables must be placed in a locked locker using a padlock brought by the user, and outdoor shoes should preferably be left in the designated shoe area in the arrivals hall.
9.1.7. SiS Sports Center is not liable for personal injuries or lost property/footwear.
9.1.8. Locked lockers that have not been rented or emptied by closing time will be opened and emptied by the SiS Sports Centre.
9.1.9. SiS Sports Center will attempt to store lost property, or items from lockers that have been emptied, for a period of 14 days
9.1.10. Taking photos or filming others, including those in the background, without their consent is not permitted.
9.1.11. Taking photos and videos in changing rooms is strictly prohibited
9.1.12. Shaving is not permitted in the changing rooms or anywhere else in the center.
9.1.13. Violations of the rules may result in termination of membership
Climbing wall and steep terrain card
10.1. Users of the climbing gym undertake to follow the instructions and guidelines applicable to the wall at all times.
10.2. To use the climbing walls, a lead climbing certificate or top-rope climbing certificate is required.
10.3. A safety course is required to use the autobelays
10.4. Users of the climbing gym must sign the center's liability waiver upon registration or at the reception desk.
10.5. Parents or guardians must complete a declaration of responsibility for children and young people under the age of 18
10.6. The main facility has a minimum age requirement of 10 years
10.7. Children under the age of 10 may only use the center's children's room and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
Anti-doping
11.1. By entering into this agreement, the member undertakes to maintain a drug- and doping-free environment in accordance with SiS Sports Centre's policy and Anti-Doping Norway's guidelines
11.2. If the use of substances on the prohibited list is suspected, the member consents to SiS Sports Centre conducting a doping test in cooperation with Anti-Doping Norway or the police.
11.3. In the event of a positive doping test, membership will be terminated immediately without a refund of the membership fee.
Privacy Policy
12.1. Why do we need to store data?
SiS Sports Center collects personal data in order to manage your membership at SiS Sports Center. SiS Sports Center needs to be able to identify members when they enter the center. In some cases, SiS Sports Center may also need to contact members to provide information about membership-related matters, opening hours, and products offered by SiS Sports Center, such as news and updates. SiS Sports Center collaborates with Abel Health to provide personal training services. By consenting to this agreement, you agree that a personal trainer may contact you.
12.2. What do we need to store?
The member consents to SiS Sports Center registering and storing non-sensitive information about the customer. The information stored includes: name, address, email address, telephone number, photograph, use of the center, and payment information. This information is stored to support the administration of the member’s interests by both the member and SiS Sports Center. The information may be used to send notifications about changes to the membership and purely practical information, such as changes to opening hours, new products at SiS Sports Center, changes to class schedules, etc. Under no circumstances will the customer’s photograph be used for any purpose other than identifying the member during access control.
SiS Sports Center stores the training history of each individual member. SiS Sports Center may use this history in consultation with the member if the member wishes to use it as a training log or for further development. SiS Sports Center uses anonymized training data and demographic personal data to identify trends and developments that can help improve SiS Sports Center's services. SiS Sports Center will always anonymize user data for statistical purposes.
12.3. Who processes your data?
Only employees working at the SiS Sports Centre have access to personal data, and only in connection with access control, payment, or membership administration. Employees at the SiS Sports Centre log in to the system using their own code.
The following systems are used to process your data:
1. Membro: Membership register containing enrollment details and payment history, group class bookings, and SMS and email notifications related to group classes
3. Remind AS: Only if debt collection services involving the member should become necessary
4. Windows 365 for email and similar services. Dedicated secure server
Both systems are hosted on a secure server at Redpill Linpro AS in Nydalen. SiS Sports Center has a data processing agreement with Membro.
12.4. Access by the member:
Members have the right to access their training history and may request that it be deleted. SiS Sports Centre will delete it from the member’s profile as soon as possible and within one week. To request deletion, send an email to personvern@minsis.no. SiS Sports Centre will confirm the deletion by email.
12.5. Third Party:
SiS Sports Center only discloses data to data processors with whom it has a data processing agreement. The exception is where disclosure is required by law, for example under the Accounting Act, in connection with insurance claims, or for debt collection purposes. SiS Sports Center will not disclose member data to social media platforms, such as Facebook or Instagram, for processing by them.
12.6. Marketing and communication to the member:
Upon entering into the Membership Agreement, the member consents to SiS Sports Centre using any form of communication to contact the member, including electronic communication (SMS, MMS, email, etc.), to provide information about and/or market its services, in accordance with Section 15 of the Norwegian Marketing Control Act. The member may withdraw their consent at any time. The member can manage marketing activities based on this consent via “My Pages” on the website. The member may not opt out of communications concerning changes to the membership terms or the Membership Agreement.
SiS Sports Center will not disclose membership data to social media platforms, such as Facebook or Instagram, for further processing by them. If a member follows SiS Sports Center on Facebook or Instagram, they should expect to receive information and marketing through these channels. If the member does not wish to receive this information or wants to unsubscribe from updates, they can do so through the settings in these applications. SiS Sports Center will not use social media to market or provide information about anything other than its own and its partners’ products. Abel Health has access to personal information because each membership includes a free consultation.
SiS Sports Center automatically deletes all membership data within the retention periods required by accounting legislation and in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR.
12.7. Video surveillance:
SiS Sports Centre has CCTV surveillance in parts of the building. The surveillance footage is stored in a closed system that only the director and deputy director can access. SiS Sports Centre has its own written procedure for logging in. The camera system may only be accessed if a criminal act is suspected. If criminal activity is suspected, the police will be granted access to the system upon written request.
13. Special measures in extraordinary circumstances
13.1. In the event of extraordinary circumstances, such as a pandemic or similar event, resulting in the temporary closure of the SiS sports center or a significant reduction in the services offered, adjustments may be made to the payment arrangements.
13.2. The member undertakes to comply with applicable rules in the event of extraordinary circumstances, including national and municipal regulations, as well as guidelines established by the SiS Sports Centre. This may include requiring the member to take personal responsibility for infection control during training. Breaches of these rules may result in termination of the membership.
